ATA Trainees Journey of Learning and Development

ATA trainees are expediting their learning journey through their active engagement in a variety of remarkable activities. These activities are carefully designed to not only deepen their theoretical understanding but also foster practical skills vital for their chosen career paths.. Immersed in dynamic experiences, ATA trainees are not merely absorbing knowledge; they are proactively shaping their future as competent and well-rounded professionals.

Here are two remarkable activities that have significantly contributed to the trainees’ growth:

Real Live Experience: OJT Trainees’ Involvement in Shutdown Operations

The On-the-Job Training (OJT) trainees took part in critical shutdown operationsat ADNOC Offshore's Umm Al Sheif Plant on Das Island. Their focus was on the isolation of Stripper Column 300 and facilitating its handover for overhaul. This direct participation in actual shutdown procedures offers invaluable field exposure, enhancing the OJT curriculum.

Shutdowns, also known as turnarounds, are essential scheduled intervals for plant stoppage, crucial for equipment inspection and refurbishment, ensuring safety and operational efficiency at ADNOC. For OJT trainees, these periods offer exceptional opportunities to participate in technical activities such as shutdowns, equipment inspections, maintenance, and commissioning works under the guidance of experienced professionals. Participation in shutdowns not only solidifies theoretical knowledge but also equips trainees with hands-on skills and confidence essential for their professional advancement. This firsthand experience in critical operations within the energy industry is a significant step to their journey as Globally Competitive Professionals.

The OJT trainees’ successful participation in shutdown activities is a testament to the Academy’s dedication to maximizing practical learning opportunities, in line with ADNOC’s objective of nurturing a competent workforce to represent the UAE in the global energy sector. The OJT Department is committed to seeking out shutdown experiences across all Group Companies to ensure trainees continue to benefit from these distinctive educational encounters.

Embracing Safety: ATA Trainees’ Commitment to ‘Life Saving Rules’

ATA trainees have taken a significant step in ensuring on-site safety by embracing the ‘Life Saving Rules’. These rules are the backbone of ADNOC’s safety culture, providing clear directives to prevent accidents and safeguard lives.

Group 3.1, a cohort of diligent trainees, recently led a presentation that emphasized the importance of these rules. They stressed that strict adherence to safety protocols is not just a regulatory requirement but a moral imperative to protect themselves and their colleagues.

The presentation was both enlightening and engaging, effectively reinforcing the message that safety is a collective responsibility. Their initiative has significantly raised safety awareness and fortified the safety culture within ATA.

The ATA trainees’ journey is a testament to the power of experiential learning and a strong safety culture in shaping the professionals of tomorrow. ATA trainees’ active participation in shutdown activities and strict adherence to safety rules are key to their growth, reflecting ADNOC’s commitment to nurturing future industry leaders.
